REVIEW: The Selection (Selection #1) by Kiera Cass

The Selection series has been around for a while and The Betrothed was recently published by the same author. It has the same look, but it’s not related to The Selection. Nevertheless, it reminded me (and probably a few others) of the book series that recieved a lot of hype… and I never read it,because I wasn’t really interested. A friend of mine and I recently talked about the series and I felt that I’m sort of interested now. Or at least enough to listen to the audiobook. So I searched at my local library and rented it out. Read on to find out what I thought about it!

Harry Potter Podcast!

Have you heard? There is a Harry Potter podcast!

Flying Harry Potter GIF

But what do I mean? Different (amazing) people reading the first book, each chapter another person. It’s called Harry Potter At Home and besides the audio itself you can watch them reading the chapter, too! Just visit their page and enjoy. 🙂
And apart from that the page holds fun quizzes and other magical stuff, you should take a look!

I already listened to the first 4 chapters and I loved them. Everyone is so good at reading it and even though Eddie Redmayne is my favourite, all of them have such good reading voices. And I think Eddie’s is only my favourite, because he is Eddie. 😉

As of today there are & chapters online already and that just makes me happy! I never read Harry Potter (don’t hate me) and am only now discovering how much fun it is. And I kinda want to pile up a few chapters so I can listen to them all at once. And how convenient is the fact that it is also a podcast? I listen to it on Spotify and don’t have a premium account, but thanks to it being a podcast I can download it and listen to it on the go. ❤

What about you? Have you already tried it? How do you like it?

REVIEW: Kill the Queen von Jennifer Estep (Netgalley)

This is a German post, because I have received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. Since I read the German book, this post will not be in English.

Interesse geweckt? Lest doch weiter. 🙂 Weiterlesen

SPOILER REVIEW: The Prophecy (Titan #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Today’s book it the last one in the Titan series by Jennifer L. Armentrout and also the last one set in this special world! I took my sweet time finishing it, but it wasn’t enough. It still ended and it was beautiful… I will miss this whole world involving Alex, Aiden, Seth, Josie and so many more awesome characters! But I also know I can (and will) always come back. I definitely feel like JLA should write longer books so we can enjoy more of her great writing and stories, but it is the way it is and I won’t complain to much!

That’s it for the spoiler free part and I will now move on to my (spoiler) thoughts on different events in the book and what not. Read on at your own risk! 🙂 Weiterlesen

RECAP: my april in books!

How has this last month been treating you? I almost don’t wanna say it, but for future reference: we’re currently experiencing a worldwide pandemic thanks to Covid-19. But I don’t want to give that one too much attention and rather focus on something way better: books!

Today I want to recap on my month… actually, it has been a while since I’ve read this much! Yes, it’s the perfect opportunity to read a lot, but uni has started again and we’ve been getting a lot of stuff to read and work on. But that doesn’t matter, since I still love my books! And I’m still waiting for some new ones in the mail (as if I don’t have enough unread books on my shelf yet). So what has kept me up late into the the night this last month?

I started off with The Return by Jennifer L. Armentrout after I just reread her Covenant series. And I didn’t stop there! I also read the whole series, consisting of The Power (#2), The Struggle (#3) and The Prophecy (#4). I loved all of these books dearly and they were a little change from the series prior to this one. It wasn’t YA anymore and we got some steamy scenes, but also a bit of a harsher language – which just fits Seth, our main character.

Apart from that I finally registered for NetGalley and read some romance books! It was such a good idea and I enjoyed some light reads! Or should I rather say some more realistic ones? I read All of Me by K. L. Kreig (english title: Lost in Between), which was very sexed-up, let me say. There wasn’t too much apart from that going on in the book. But even now I have to think of Willow and Shaw all the time! I can’t wait to read the second book. I want to know how the story ends, but I also want more from these two! The last book I fully read was Crazy in Love by Emma Winter (german book). I enjoyed it in general, but it was just okay. There was so much more potential!

The last book in the list is the one I just started: Kill the Queen by Jennifer Estep. I can’t say much about it just yet, but the first 30-or-so pages are good! I’m not really into fantasy at the moment, but maybe that’ll change with this book! I believe we get a female Gladiator by the end, which sounds pretty awesome if you ask me.

The last thing I wanna do is a little fun thing for statistic-lovers: a page count! I will just take the pages from the versions I put in on Goodreads. Especially the ARCs are difficult to count, but I’m simply gonna take the ebook version!

The Return: 335 pages

The Power: 352 pages

The Struggle: 357 pages

The Prophecy: 358 pages

All of Me: 439 pages

Crazy in Love: 350 pages

Kill the Queen: around 32/496 pages

Total: 2223 pages!

I’m looking forward to doing that again for next month! Funny to see everything in numbers, but I don’t think it’s gonna be as much next month (May) – but let’s see. Life has picked up again! Still, I can’t wait to read and get sucked into different worlds and stories.

So what have you read this month? Let me know!
