Dearest readers! 🙂

You probably asked yourself at some point: who is behind this blog? Today I want to answer that question.

Who am I?

My name is Freya and I am currently studying to become a teacher (2020), even though sometimes I want to be a carpenter or something like that.
I’m from Germany and besides reading, I also like to ski, listen to music and learn new languages (at the moment it’s Norwegian since I did a semester abroad in Bergen <3). I also like to travel, but who doesn’t these days?
My imaginary bucket list of places to see and things to do is long and is constantly getting longer… whoops!

I can never decide between German and English, it’s worse over on my Instagram! But I think it will always stay that way and just makes me…me.

Why write a book blog?

I think the reason is Sasha Alsberg (aka abookutopia) on Youtube! I started watching her videos and oftentimes I was thinking “Oh that book sounds like a good read!” Then I found Goodreads and I was lost in a wonderful world full of books and my to-read-list grew and is still doing so.

What am I currently reading?

During the first half of the years (2020) I started listening to audiobooks! The series‘ I started but haven’t yet finished are: The Selection, The Lunar Chronicles, A Court of Thorns and Roses.

A while ago I started reading Fallen by Lauren Kate, after I watched the movie, but the book is currently on hold for me. Also on hold is the second book (April-June) in the Calender Girl series by Audrey Carlan. It is very cliché, but also a very fun and smooth read!

As of right now (August 2020) I am reading a German nonfiction book about statistics and how you can „fake“ their message. It’s good, I can only recommend it!

Favourite book and author

My favourite book series are the Lux and Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout (but I basically love every book she writes). She is also my favourite author! My dream for the future is to have every single book of hers. That’s how much I love her writing!
I also loved The Royals series by Erin Watt! It has a special place in my heart.
My favourite German auhtor… I think is Kerstin Gier. I loved her Silver trilogy and also A Castle in the Clouds. Oh yeah, and she wrote Ruby Red, duh.

Hey liebe Leser! 🙂

Sicherlich habt ihr euch schon manchmal gefragt: Wer steckte hinter dem Blog „The Sound of a Voice“?
Heute möchte ich euch das mal beantworten.

Wer bin ich?

Ich bin Freya und studiere Grundschullehramt in Dresden (2020), obwohl ich manchmal gern Tischlerin oder so wäre.
Ich komme aus Deutschland und fahre sehr gerne Ski, höre mit großer Leidenschaft Musik verschiedenster Richtungen und lerne gern Sprachen (zur Zeit Norwegisch dank meines tollen Auslandssemesters dort. <3). Ich reise auch sehr gern, aber das ist ja mittlerweile Jedermanns Hobby…
Aber vor allem habe ich große Träume! Die Bucket List steht und es kommen ständig neue Dinge dazu. (:

Ich kann mich nie zwischen Deutsch und Englisch entscheiden! Weder hier, noch auf Instagram. Ich glaube das wird auch für immer so bleiben und sich nach meiner Laune richten.

Was war der Auslöser?

Wahrscheinlich Sasha Alsberg von abookutopia auf Youtube! 🙂
Als ich anfing ihre Videos zu gucken, dachte ich ganz häufig „Oh das Buch klingt aber interessant!“. Naja dann stieß ich durch sie auf Goodreads und meine „to-read“-Liste wurde immer länger.

Was lese ich?

Während der ersten Hälfte von 2020 habe ich angefangen Hörbücher zu hören! Serien, die ich angefangen, aber noch nicht komplett zu Ende gehört habe: The Selection, The Lunar Chronicles, Das Reich der Sieben Höfe.

Sonst habe ich eigentlich angefangen Fallen von Lauren Kate zu lesen, nachdem ich den Film gesehen habe. Aber das Buch ist gerade on hold, ebenso wie der 2. Teil von Calender Girl (Audrey Carlan). Calender Girl bedient sich jedem Cliché und ist auch übertrieben perfekt, aber dadurch ist mal wieder etwas anderes und sehr schön zu lesen!

Gerade (August 2020) lese ich das Deutsche Buch „Warum dick nicht doof macht und Genmais nicht tötet“, welches um Statistiken geht und darum, wie man ihre Aussage verfälschen kann. Es ist wirklich gut, ich kann es nur empfehlen! 🙂

Lieblingsbuch/ LiebglinsautorIn

Zu meinen Lieblingsbüchern gehört die Paper Reihe von Erin Watt und die Lux und Covenant Reihe von Jennifer L. Armentrout, die ebenfalls meine Lieblingsautorin ist! Aber von ihr liebe ich fast jedes Buch, um ehrlich zu sein. Ich stelle mir vor später einmal alle Bücher von ihr im Regal stehen zu haben. 🙂
Ich glaube meine deutsche Liebingsautorin ist Kerstin Gier mit ihren Jugenbüchern. Ich meine die Silber-Trilogie, das Wolkenschloss, die Edelstein-Trilogie… wow!
